There is no story, there are no words, nothing to shelter one from a cat's surprised gaze. <OTTO> is a vacuum, without a linear story line, an annulment of the world and its concerns. <OTTO> is the newest collective effort by the performers from Kinkaleri. Seven different versions of this ongoing work have been shown to date at Italian festivals and in Paris. The work won the UBU Award by Patalogo Edition in 2002 for the best dance-theater piece in Italy. The work of the internationally-operating artists in Kinkaleri charts the gray zone between experimental theater, research of visual perception, installations, and performance art. Their pieces often change from performance to performance, reflecting their way of producing work. In addition, Kinkaleri create pieces in which the location - e.g., a museum, a movie theater, a dance club, a villa, an abandoned building, or an empty swimming pool - is conceived of as an integral part of the piece.
