Man needs Man. Man needs the gaze and the desire of the other. Its all about magnetic theater. Distrustful of the unknown, of the other, dancers keep away from, or melt into each other through sheer power of resonance. Paradoxically, peace seems to be preserved through fear, through reciprocal distrust between man and his own environment. The body in terms of space. Space is exhilarated, absorbed, overtaken, subjected to self-invasion. How long, how far? The boundary wanders, and crosses over space itself, now reflecting its own deformation. Theatrical space is a witness to this phenomenon. Space is a vessel communicating. In and out.
The space is fenced off by a magnetic tape, responding to four Revox machines, one in each corner, all activated by an invisible actor. The actor organises, reorganises and disorganises the image he is presented with. He has the right to, because he watches. Its all about intrusion.
Its in front of us. In and out, it fills, it sticks, it flows, it stretches. Its flesh and sound. The eye starts revolving. |

L'EXPÉRIENCE HARMAAT has always claimed its statute as a space rather than a company. Created in 1996 by Fabrice Lambert and Juha-Pekka Marsalo, it aims to be a crossroad of exchanges, an ambulant laboratory for various movement artists. As a result, dancers, choreographers, visual artists, musicians, sound engineers and video artists are invited to work on different projects, contributing to a research into body and image. Since 2000, Fabrice LAMBERT took the structure a step further by emphasizing its statute as an experimental laboratory. L'EXPÉRIENCE HARMAAT / Fabrice LAMBERT sees itself as a crossroad of artists originating from different backgrounds but whose work focuses on movement.
FABRICE LAMBERT Born in Grenoble in 1974, Fabrice LAMBERT trained at the Grenoble CNR (82-92), and at the C.N.D.C. LEsquisse (94-96). He became part of the Kubilaî Khan Investigations Group (96-97) before joining the Carolyn Carlson company (97-98). From 1998 to 2002, he collaborated with Catherine Diverrès at the Rennes C.C.N. At the same time, he initiated a research work with lExpérience Harmaat, collaborating with visual-artists, video makers and dancers. He has since then created various pieces: No body, never mind (2001), TOPO (2001), Le Rêve (solo, 2002) and Play Mobile (2003). |
